About Us
DUNCAN BULMER – OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Duncan is responsible for the civil and mechanical work WindCare carries out as well as overseeing Health & Safety across the company. Duncan runs a highly successful engineering business on site and allows WindCare to use these facilities which has been instrumental to the success of the company to date. Duncan is a keen shot and outside the shooting season often finds himself on the side of a rugby pitch issuing instructions and encouragement to his twin boys.
MARK WILSON – TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Mark is responsible for all electrical work WindCare carries out and is also the only director who will climb a wind turbine. Mark has run several successful electrical businesses in the past and is NIC EIC accredited for commercial and industrial systems. Mark is trained on electrical systems up to 11kV and is also ticketed to witness test G59and G99 relays alongside the DNOs. Marks ability to fault find is second to none and is credited with sorting out many a wind turbine over the phone. Mark loves his skiing and during his time off when he isn’t hitting the Alps, he is doing something else very fast, normally involving cars, bikes or jet skis.
ALEX THORNTON – COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
Alex runs the commercial side of the business and is responsible for creating and developing relationships with WindCare’s customers as well as pricing work, negotiating contracts and overseeing all major jobs. Alex has a degree in Business Management and has spent nearly 20 years working in fast growth companies with 7 years of management experience behind him. Outside work, Alex has 3 young children meaning he doesn’t have time for hobbies.
COLIN LOCKWOOD – PROJECT ENGINEER
Colin joined us in 2012 as a graduate with a master’s degree in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester. Colin works closely with Duncan and is responsible for groundworks and electrical project management and delivery as well as organising some aspects of our installations. To say he has come a long way since he started with us is a massive understatement and without Colin the guys on site wouldn’t be able to work. From running the Accelerated Loss of Mains Change Program (G59 Upgrade)” to preparing foundation drawings and designing electrical systems to dovetail between the DNO scope of works and the wind turbine manufacturer’s requirements before overseeing the works to completion on site, Colin is at the heart of everything we do.
When Colin isn’t pulling monster days in the office he likes to play cricket for his local team and enjoys the odd pint of real ale especially if it comes from Brew York.

Outside of the office Lily is particularly busy in her last year studying for a degree in Agriculture. She particularly enjoys going beating and going on walks with her typically crazy Labrador, Tessa!
